June K. brought in this lovely Christmas roombox for Show and Tell. One thing I really liked about it was that she had a list of the contents and where/who had made most of the pieces.
The club supplies the trees and members supply the ornaments. During the evening, a draw is made for each tree and half the ornaments. This year they went to new members.
Barb S. donated this gingerbread house as a door prize.
As always, we began with food, food, and more food!
As the meal ended, I read a story about the tradition of the little angel on top of the Christmas tree.
Santa Tina and helper Marg passed out kits that Lorry had donated to the club when she moved. As Tina handed out the kits, she asked us each a question then incorporated the answers into a miniaturists' version of the 12 Days of Christmas.
Bev A led us in a rousing version of two Christmas songs complete with sound effects and we had fun figuring out 24 Christmas carols from pictures that Cheryl S. supplied. One table scored 23 out of 24!
We then moved into a circle and passed gifts right or left according to a story that Joanne read us. Great fun!
We returned to our tables and Joanne read us a pirate rendition of the Night Before Christmas.
Barb S. makes birthday gifts for each club member throughout the year so we reciprocate at Christmas by giving her birthday gifts.
It was a great evening! Merry Christmas to all who attended. See you in January!
