Sale tomorrow!!!

I'm am SO excited about the sale tomorrow!

First of all, as a club we are totally blessed to have a group of ladies headed by Pat M. who collect, prepare and price estates/consignments for our club. They have put hundreds of hours in to prepare for this sale.

Even setting up for the sale today took hours!

Unfortunately, the charger for my camera is missing and the cord to download pictures from my old camera and my phone is missing also.

We have six 6' round tables, two 6' rectangular tables, two 4' tables and other items placed on the packing boxes and totes. SO much stuff!

A lot of furniture, about 10 Michael's hutches, accessories, some supplies and tools, electrified lamps, books, magazines, wallpaper, petit point kits, lots of dolls (both resin and built), Christmas items, lycopodium, landscaping materials, Chrysnbon and House of Miniature kits....

There is a 1:24 dollhouse and two or three 1:48 houses; three roomboxes decorated with woodland scenes.

There are several beautiful fairies (larger than dollhouse scale) that are limited edition. Four have accompanying paperwork. These are relatively expensive but they are exquisite!

Committee members are not allowed to buy in advance but club members do get a one hour start on the general public.

We had some residents drop by to see what we were up to this morning so I expect we'll see them back tomorrow. All but one had seen my miniatures earlier and the other stopped by my place this morning. She had seen individual miniatures over the years but had never seen what could be done with them. She was impressed!

FREEBIE, Busy week

There wasn't a great response to this but I did put the names of those interested in a random generator on the computer and the winner if SANDRA S. of M.E.E.

Pat M. had asked for just one card, the fan shaped one, so I removed that from the mix for her.

My grandson is here for this week, I have a StarFest meeting on Wednesday, help with the sale set-up on Friday and, of course, the sale on Saturday so doubt that I'll have much time to post this week. Although I will try to post some pictures of the sales tables on Friday.

CONSIGNMENT SALE - SATURDAY, JULY 20

The Miniature Enthusiasts of Edmonton Club Estate Sale Committee has had a busy time preparing a large estate for sale. There is simply too much available to hold off until our annual Show and Sale in September so we are holding an early sale of this estate.

Saturday, July 20, 2019
10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
2nd Floor Social Room
78A McKenney Avenue
St. Albert, AB

For entry, you must go to the South Entrance of Building A and identify yourself as being there for the miniature sale.

Most items are 1:12 scale but there are a few smaller items as well as a half scale house and some half scale furniture.

Hope some of you will be able to join us and get some great bargains!

A FREEBIE - NOT Mini!

After we cleaned out Mom's apartment, all of the sisters felt that we should downsize and not leave our children with our "collections".

With that in mind, I downsized my books in my bedroom from two bookshelves to one. And I'm working on other things.

One thing is a collection of antique greeting cards. These are not family cards...they are cards that I bought years ago at an auction.

If you would like to have these cards, please email me at This is one thing I can offer worldwide due to the size and weight.

Wait and see...

I was taking some things to the Put and Take....

and found these beautiful cloisonne vases with black bases.....

The equivalent of 2 1/2 ft on the base but 2' without it.

They'll work!

Making peas

Trineke asked me how I made the peas. I don't as a rule work with Fimo but thought this was something I could demonstrate.

I took a piece of green Fimo just smaller than the last joint on my little finger. Half that amount would have been plenty.

On a smooth surface, I rolled it out evenly (using the balls of my fingers) then cut that in half

and rolled that out and cut that in half again.

I rolled that piece until it was  really thin.

Using an X-acto knife, I sliced off tiny pieces from that roll.

With the ball of my finger, I rolled each cut-off piece until it was round.

Bake at 275F for about 5 minutes. Keep an eye on them because at this size, they won't take too long to bake.

Leanne and I are leaving tomorrow for Saskatoon to attend a Celebration of Life for my dear sister-in-law, Marie Heuchert, who passed away earlier this year. She was a wonderful lady and is missed by all.

Started setting the table

I started by tacking the table runner (a piece of ribbon) to the table with a bit of Tacky glue then covered it with Saran wrap then weighing it down with a book to keep it in place and flat while the glue dried.

The dishes are Chrysnbon and were painted by Karen Jones.I made the peas, potatoes and jellied salad. The ham was made by Myrt Smeaton of B.C. who used to do our show and sale and made the loveliest food.

I have the salad bowls but have only put one on so far on the plate on the right. Haven't decided to use them or not.

I'm short some pieces of cutlery so will have to find some more and add them later. Also need to add the serving spoons and some glassware.

Think I'll tackle the dining room cabinet next. Have to decide what will go in it.
